Exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join this well-known NZ owned and operated organisation who provides a work environment which values genuine people, care for others, and strives for excellence in all that they do.

About the role - Atu mo te mahi
Reporting into the Payroll Manager, this is a 2IC role, where you will be interacting with the CFO and other internal key stakeholders across the business.
As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of all payroll related tasks in accordance with company procedures/policy aligned with the wider business and across two business entities.
You'll have demonstrated experience in a fast-paced environment, be the first point of contact for internal/external stakeholders, be an articulate communicator with a confident and professional personality. High work ethic and an ability to work independently and show a high level of initiative is key in this role.

Key tasks and accountabilities:
  • Fortnightly payroll processing of up to 1200 employees
  • Accurate processing of payroll related task
  • Oracle system management
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism
  • Receiving, acknowledging and responding to all queries
  • Managing and responding to all communication received by email and phone
  • Ability to make sound judgments and resolve discrepancies and recalculations
  • Composing and preparing correspondence/reporting
  • Supporting communication from Leadership
  • Building and maintain positive, effective long-term relationships with all key stakeholders.
About you - Pehea koe
  • Minimum 3yrs experience in payroll
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of NZ Legislation
  • Oracle proficient
  • Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to set/handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Methodical and remains calm under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail/computer literacy and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential (written & verbal)
  • Ability to work co-operatively and effectively as part of a team and autonomously
